Meet Your Hosts

The Klars have a long track record of bringing the Rebbe’s message of love and unity to the Jewish community of Morris and Essex Counties as Chabad emissaries.  Since 1980 they have created many initiatives which have helped to bring people together in a joyful, spontaneous way.  They came to their work with great enthusiasm, wanting to change the world. The following are some of the programs they have introduced:

THE GRAND PURIM BALL
... which was held in the Grand Ballrooms from Morristown to West Orange and attracted up to 1800 people for many years from every community with awesome celebrations of music and dance.  A night to always remember was Purim night with singer Jo Amar, the night that saw the end of the Persian Gulf war.  What an awesome memory!

THE JEWISH RENAISSANCE FAIR
... which took place in Morristown on the Rabbinical College of America 15 acre site and moved to Liberty State Park and then South Mountain Reservation in West Orange.  This Fair was frequented by thousands of Jewish families every Labor Day Weekend for 33 years.  It celebrated Jewish life and included concerts, carnival rides and games, arts and crafts, Artists’ Quarter, story time hayride, hands on workshops and much more.

CAFÉ DEVORAH
... was a Saturday night concert and dinner venue which brought the best of Jewish entertainment to the pubic for 15 years. It began in 1983 at the Raingarden at FDU Madison, moved to the JCC in West Orange and then the Aspen Hotel in Parsippany and finally the JCC in Whippany.

JEWISH LEARNING INSTITUTE
... has brought the depth of meaning and relevance of Judaism to thousands of people literally changing lives. The course is written and designed by some of the brightest, most creative minds in Chabad. Each class is a WOW! experience.

THE BEGINNER'S SERVICE

AABJ&D to the basement of our Judaica Store to the office complex across from the Wilshire Grand, the Shul has grown to its own new building  and home at 401 Pleasant Valley Way, a short block from Lubavitch Center Judaica and Shabbat House.
